Thank you to MorningStar Farms and Thrillist for sponsoring this post!

Did you set goals for 2018? I usually don’t get too into resolutions but I have identified some areas where I want to improve my overall health and diet (and that of my family). One priority is to add more plant-based proteins to our meals. We love beans, grains and nuts and I am crazy about lentils, edamame and tofu but when I think about our meals as a whole, we lack in the veggie protein department. Vegetable-based proteins help support an active lifestyle and are a sustainable source of nutrition. And adding more plants to your meals is easy, fun and most certainly delicious!

Morning Star Farms Veggie Bacon

We love breakfast time in our house but it seems like we’re always in a rush! That’s why I love using a quick cooking ingredient like MorningStar Farms’ Veggie Bacon Strips for a delicious way to add in some plant protein.

Waffle Bar

Try these Maple Waffle Bowls from Thrillist for a sweet and savory start to the day. If you have time, make your own waffles and set up a breakfast bar for your family to create their own waffle “Buddha Bowls.” Let your crew make custom bowls by laying out the ingredients and letting them go wild. Warm the maple syrup in a microwave-safe glass container, and don’t forget a saucer underneath so you don’t have a sticky mess later! The smoky flavor of the veggie bacon tastes awesome and has a crispy bite making it the ideal match for the sweet maple syrup and waffles in this recipe. If you’re pressed for time, use Eggo waffles and skip the “bar” setup for quick assembly.
