Struggling to get your little ones to eat veggies? As the mom of a picky 2-year-old, we deal with this issue quite often. I’ve come to rely on hummus as the “cure all” to encourage her vegetables. Do you have the same issue? Give it a try! Pair cucumbers, carrots, bell peppers, celery, and grape tomatoes with one of these simple dip ideas (below). New studies have found that children are more likely to eat veggies when paired with dip so forgo a few extra calories or (gasp) fat grams and let them dip away.

Make homemade guacamole for the best flavor.
Pair your veggies with one of these simple dips:
  • Low-fat Ranch Dip: (store bought or homemade: Mix plain Greek yogurts, garlic and onion powders, fresh chives, fresh dill, salt/pepper)
  • Hummus (store bought or homemade: blend chickpeas, lemon juice, garlic and olive oil)
  • Honey mustard (store bought or homemade: Mix plain Greek yogurt, honey and mustard)
  • Guacamole (store bought or homemade: Mix avocado, chopped tomatoes, chopped onion, chopped cilantro and lime juice)
