I’m willing to bet you want simple, easy food that tastes delicious, that you know is healthy so you don’t have to stress about portion sizes and arguing about “no thank you” bites. You’re looking for simple and fun solutions to solve everyday problems and you like new things, too, different choices that stray from tradition without losing the love in the food and life.
That’s what I do here, and I call it “cleverful” living. And if that idea appeals to you, I’ve got good news: You’re in the right place. And I’m glad you’re here.
October 14, 2013 Healthy Lunchbox
Mama was in a hurry this morning and we were low on groceries but I managed to pull together a quick lunch with what we had on-hand. Despite the fact that many people trying to eat “healthy” may shy away from chicken fingers or pretzels, a little bit here and there won’t hurt. Plus, small portions paired with healthier foods like yogurt and fresh fruit balance everything out.
I definitely try not to be the nutrition nanny so a few fun things that you may want to serve your child here and there, go for it. Just keep portions small and balance it out with nutritious options.
Today’s 5-minute lunchbox:
1/2 chicken finger (most of breading removed)
Yogurt
Fresh pineapple
Trail mix: Cheerios, raisins, dried apricots, pretzels
Update:
Throw away report: GONE!
