Worried your apples may brown if you make this ahead? I love to dissolve a tablespoon of Fruit Fresh in a bowl of water, add my sliced apples and let them sit in the water for about 5 minutes. You also can sprinkle them directly with Fruit Fresh.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 Bosc pear
  • 1 dried apricot (feet and wattle)
  • 1 bag each of sliced green and red apples
  • 1 8- ounce bar cheddar cheese
  • 2 raisins
  • 1/2 peanut
  • 1 tsp peanut butter (or other

Instructions

  1. Cut the pear in half lengthwise and lay on a flat surface. Starting from the bottom of the pear, alternate apples and cheddar until you have made a rainbow with the “feathers” around the “turkey.”
  2. Use kitchen shears to cut feet and a wattle out of a dried apricot.
  3. Use a small amount of peanut butter to secure eyes (raisins), nose (1/2 peanut), and wattle (dried apricot).
  4. Refrigerate until ready to serve.
