How to Make a Charcuterie Board

The beauty of a charcuterie board is that you can customize with all of your favorite ingredients! Plus, the sky’s the limit with how to design it. A simple search of #charcuterie on Instagram will lend you well over 600,000 ideas! When you’re choosing the ingredients for your board, keep flavor, texture, color, size and shape and mind. Below are some of my favorites to include on a cheese board. Scroll down to the recipe to see exactly what I used in this appetizer.

Here are some favorites that I like to include

  • Cheeses: Havarti, Gouda, Cheddar, feta, Brie, goat cheese, Parmesan
  • Fruits: green grapes, red grapes, mandarin orange segments, berries, pomegranate arils, olives, apples
  • Vegetables: pickled okra, bell peppers, carrot sticks, cucumber rounds
  • Meats: prosciutto, salami, capocallo, smoked salmon
  • Spreads/Toppings: mustard, fruit preserves, honey, extra virgin olive oil, balsamic vinegar
  • Nuts (salted, unsalted, flavored, candied): pecans, walnuts, pistachios, almonds
  • Starchy bases: baguette rounds, crackers, breadsticks, party pumpernickle, rice crackers
